Advanced Technology Tree Guide.

This program is for newbies in Galactic Civilizations. It helps you not to confuse in that huge technology tree. In addition, it gives information about all improvements, ships and starbase modules, pointing on the technology (and module), required for it.

Download ATTG, version 3.6 (1,08 MB).

***Notes:

  1. By this moment it can work correctly only at 1024x768, 1152x864 and 1280xSmth resolution

  2. I had no english data files to include default language (don't choose it in the list, please, unless you create the folder with exactly same name and put required files there), so you have to launch data preparing program to make ATTG work (This program makes files copiing easy).

  3. Unfortunately, ATTG works ONLY with standart files, it doesn't work with mods and packs. Now it can work with Altarian Prophecy as well as with Galactic Civilizations v1.2+.

  4. New: earlier I forgot to tell what does file Data\Options.txt mean & how to use it. Not hard to guess that it's configuration file. It consists of 4 words:

    1. Name of your data folder (same as "language" in listbox at the beginning).

    2. AutoEnter/<SMTH else>: determines if application will ask you to choose language and/or press "OK" next time. To disable autoenter you need just to change this word, but NOT TO ERASE IT ! ! !

    3. HideText/<SMTH else>: determines what language will picture appear (HideText - English, <SMTH else> - your local language).

    4. AP/<SMTH else>: determines if it should read APShipPack.ship file. This file seems to be the only difference between Altarian Prophecy & GC v1.2 data files.

    5. To reset options just delete Data\Options.txt file.

  5. New: As long as noone will write bug reports, offer new ideas, ask for some modifications or something else, and as long as I have no more free time (studiing begins), this version will be final. I see no sense in adding possibility to handle mods (especially because adding technologies to this interface seems almost impossible, though improvements, ships and modules can be easily added), Thanks everybody for using ATTG & thanks Stardock & Strategy First for this wonderful game.

When you download it, you need to launch Prepare Data or make some preparations manually to make it work:

  1. Create new subfolder in <installation directory>\Data folder (name it how you like better, I suggest to name it with your native language or your game's language + version number, for example, C:\Program files\ATTG\Data\German v1.21).

  2. Create 16x16 bmp-picture with your flag or something you want, name it flag.bmp and put it into created subfolder.

  3. Open "Data" folder of the Galactic Civilizations and copy all following files to "Data" folder of ATTG (Advanced Technology Tree Guide):

And 1 file from Altarian Prophecy:

Now ATTG is ready for running.

I'd like to ask you to send me your data files RARed, & named with your version & language, so I could include it in future versions. Thank you.

Don't forget to write me about how you like ATTG and bug reports. Visit the topic of ATTG at GalCiv forums and say what you think :). Forum
